1. Monday (except when Monday is part of the holiday weekend, then the next day is closed instead of Monday)

Admission Fees

1. Permanent Exhibition: General public ¥400 (¥300), University student ¥250 (¥200)

2. Special Exhibition: Different admission fees 
   *Special Exhibition ticket also includes a fee for Permanent Exhibition
3. Admission fees are free for high school students and younger, senior citizens (aged 65 and over), persons with disabilities
   *Even if eligible for free admission, a ticket is required. Please present appropriate identification (e.g., student ID) at the information desk.
4. Discount and Fee Waiver
   Discount
   • Reciprocal discount for visitors to any of the following five facilities within three days: The Museum of Modern Art Wakayama, Wakayama Prefectural Museum, Wakayama City Museum, Wakayama Castle Tower, and Wakayama Historical Center.
   • Mail-magazine subscribers (with print-out of the latest issue within the expiry date)

Access

1. By bus
   From JR Wakayama Station or Nankai Line Wakayama City Station, about 10 minutes
   Take a bus in the “Wakauraguchi” direction, and get off at the “Kencho mae” stop, walk 2 minutes
2. By taxi
   From JR Wakayama Station, about 10 minutes; From Nankai Line Wakayama City Station, about 5 minutes
3. By car
   From the Hanwa Expressway Wakayama Exit, about 15 minutes towards the Wakayama Castle direction

Parking

1. Parking fee
   Museum visitors: Free of charge for the first 2 hours,  ¥100 for each additional 30 minutes, ¥700 for a full day
   Users only for parking: ¥300 for the first 2 hours, ¥100 for each additional 30 minutes, ¥1200 for full day
   *Parking tickets must be validated at the museum ticket counters. Discount coupons are distributed to museum or cafe visitors.

To ensure a pleasant experience and to protect the artwork, we ask for your understanding and cooperation on the following:

1. Please do not touch the exhibits.
2. Please refrain from using mobile phones in the galleries.
3. Smoking is prohibited throughout the museum.
4. No eating or drinking inside the museum, including candies and chewing gum.
5. Large bags and umbrellas should be stored in lockers or left at the information desk.
6. Use of ink pens and sharp pencils is prohibited. Pencils are available at the information desk and exhibition room entrances.
7. Photography:
   • Allowed in permanent exhibition rooms and the entrance area without flash or tripods. (There could be some exceptions. Please ask.)
   • Prohibited in special exhibitions unless otherwise specified.
   • Media personnel may be granted exceptions; please inquire in advance.
8. Pets are not allowed, except for assistance dogs (guide dogs, hearing dogs, service dogs).
9. Please follow the instructions of the museum staff.
