9:30 to 17:00 (gate closes at 16:30) from Tuesday to Sunday
Closing
- Monday (except when Monday is part of the holiday weekend, then the next day is closed, instead of Monday)
- New Year Holiday: December 29 to January 3
- Closed periodically: During the period when museum reorganizes its display
* The Museum will be closed for installing new lighting system from January 27, 2020 till April 24, 2020.
Admission Fees
- Permanent Exhibition: General public ¥350 (¥270), University student ¥240 (¥180)

*Special Exhibition ticket also includes fee for Permanent Exhibition - Admission fees are free for high school student or younger, senior citizen (>65), people with disability, exchange students and foreign students living in Wakayama, for both Permanent Exhibition and Special Exhibition
*It still requires an admission ticket. Please show the relevant ID card (student ID etc.) at Information Desk. - Discount and Fee Waiver

- By bus
From JR Wakayama Station or Nankai Line Wakayama City Station, about 10 minutes
Take a bus “Wakauraguchi” direction, and get off at “Kencho mae” stop, walk 2 minutes - By taxi
From JR Wakayama Station, about 10 minutes; From Nankai Line Wakayama City Station, about 5 minutes - By car
From Hanwa Expressway Wakayama Exit, about 15 minutes towards the Wakayama Castle direction
Parking

Museum visitors: Free of charge for first 2 hours, ¥100 for each additional 30 minutes, ¥700 for full day
Users only for parking: ¥300 for first 2 hours, ¥100 for each additional 30 minutes, ¥1200 for full day

In order to provide maximum quality of the Museum environment as well as to protect art works, we ask for your understanding and cooperation on the following:
- Please do not touch art works
- Please refrain from the use of mobile phone
- Inside the Museum, including exhibition hall, smoking is not permitted
- Inside the Museum, including exhibition hall, food and drink (including candy and gum) are not permitted
- Please do not carry umbrella and large carry-bags inside the Museum. Use coin-locker or keep them at Information Desk
- Please do not use ball-pen or other writing instruments that require ink. Pencils are available at Information Desk and at the entrance to the exhibition hall
- About photographs
- Photographing at the Permanent Display Hall and Entrance area is basically permitted except for the use of flash, other lighting devices, and camera stand. Depending on the object being photographed, there could be exceptions. Please ask.
- Photographing of special exhibition is basically not permitted. Please ask for details.
- For press and media, flash and camera stand may be allowed
- Dogs, cats and other pets are not permitted. However assistance dogs are permitted
- Please follow the guidance of the Museum personnel.
