The Prints of Senpan Maekawa: An Exhibition Commemorating the 130th Anniversary of the Artist’s Birth

One of the two themed displays for autumn presents the works of nihonga artists active in Meiji-era Kyoto from the nihonga collection of the Museum of Modern Art, Shiga. The other themed display presents the prints of manga artist and printmaker Senpan Maekawa (1888–1960). The exhibition is being held to mark the 130th anniversary of the artist’s birth and is drawn primarily from the collection of the Museum of Modern Art, Wakayama.
