This themed display of about sixty works and related historical materials looks at the manifestly “Japanese” features demonstrated by Japanese art in the Meiji era onward as a result of exposure to influxes of Western cultural influences, likening such decidedly Japanese traits as sparks generated by Japanese interaction with the outside world.
